Median Net Worth
By JD Bluefield | May 20, 2008

Today some friends and I were thinking, “what is the median net worth of someone our age”, so I did a little searching. I found this calculator on CNNMoney that basically results in showing you the following chart. I’ve listed the results for all ages below.
<25: $400
25-34: $2,125
35-44: $44,875
45-54: $109,300
55-64: $203,250
>64: $174,400
If you’re reading this, you probably have a pretty good handle on your finances or are looking to get there. So you may, find these numbers pretty low and pretty depressing. But if you think about it, this is just the “median”, or the middle point of all values. Between 25 and 34, many people are just exiting college and ladden with student loans or maybe just starting a career, so that’s also a factor. It is not the average. I’d hope that the average is higher, but that is something I could not find.
